~*~ The Adventurer's Best Friend ~*~
Restores 2d4+2 hit points when consumed
|
Rarity: Common Type: Healing Brewing Time: 4 hours |
Difficulty: Easy Cost to Brew: 25 gp Market Value: 50 gp |
When you drink this potion, you regain 2d4+2 hit points. The potion's red liquid glimmers when agitated and tastes faintly of cherries. The healing effect is instantaneous and closes minor wounds, stops bleeding, and reduces pain. No side effects when used properly.
Critical Details: The stirring directions (clockwise vs counterclockwise) are important. Reversing them will produce a potion that tastes terrible but is still effective. Bloodroot must be fresh; wilted or old bloodroot reduces potency by half.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark place. Properly sealed healing potions last indefinitely. If exposed to direct sunlight, they lose potency after 1 month.
Variations: For Greater Healing Potion (4d4+4), double all ingredients and add 1 drop of troll blood. Brewing time increases to 8 hours, difficulty becomes Moderate, and cost rises to 100 gp.
"The humble healing potion has saved more lives than any legendary artifact.
Every adventurer should carry at least two. I've seen warriors survive impossible
odds with nothing but courage and a well-timed gulp of this crimson elixir.
Master this recipe first—it's the foundation of all restorative alchemy."
- Tiberius Flamel, Master Alchemist
